In November 2017, voters approved $15 million for development and improvement of parks and recreation facilities throughout the city, with a special emphasis on improving accessibility to parks and play structure for children of all abilities. We are excited to announce the rebuild of the Virginia Weaver Park Creative Playground was completed in February 2019. This project is a $600,000 inclusive playground that will not only have the latest in playground equipment, but will be an all-inclusive playground for children of all ages and abilities.
The new creative playground totals 12,000 square feet, is made of 100% recycled plastic lumber and resembles the former wooden playground at the park.
Sponsorship Opportunities Available for Creative Playground

Your financial partnership, memorialized at the park, will help to create a vibrant play space that will encourage social connections and physical activities for children of all ages. Thank you to our sponsors who have already donated towards the shade structure.
Purchase a Fence Picket
Kids are making memories at our all accessible, community-built playground at Virginia Weaver Park. Our next phase is to place shade over the structure and we need your help. Do your part to fund shade structures by purchasing your personalized fence picket. You may purchase pickets online below. Put your stamp on the park and leave a lasting legacy for future generations to enjoy. Pickets are available for purchase for $100. These pickets are made from 100% recycled milk jugs - each one using material from about 42 milk jugs! Keep in mind, there is a 22 character limit (with spaces) on these pickets.
