Cedar Hill Independent School District (CHISD) is a premier 6A district. It consists of 14 schools and serves over 8,100 students, grades K-12. A leader in world-class education, it is CHISDs mission to develop confident leaders with the character, knowledge, and skills to excel in any endeavor they pursue by Engaging in Excellence. This is achieved through master educators utilizing relevant and innovative curricula and a commitment to engage families and the community as educational partners and advocates, supported by premier facilities and operations.
Programs
Cedar Hill Independent School District (ISD) encourages students to be involved in the school and the community. They do this through the promotion of a variety of educational programs including fine arts and sports. The CHISD fine arts program encompasses grades K-12, and each student is guaranteed quality instruction in the understanding, appreciation, and performance of the arts. In addition, the district also offers an outstanding athletic program with over 900 student participants. A total of 20 sports are available for grades 9-12, and the two middle schools offer 6 sports.
Private Schools
Cedar Hill also has a number of private institutions. They include Trinity Christian School which serves families and students seeking a well-rounded education founded on biblical principles, and 2 charters schools, Dallas Life, and Newman International Academy, both of which have exceptional academic programs and are tuition-free.

Cedar Valley College Center
Cedar Valley College Center in Cedar Hill is the center for economic development and business training for the southwest corridor. Students can choose from more than 30 classes in various disciplines, including technology, business art, medical, languages and law enforcement. Additionally, CVC at Cedar Hill offers free counseling, research assistance, job skill assessment, and Small Business Administration lending assistance.
